Vikings of Thule is a social Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) from the game developer Gogogic. In this unique cross platform fully immersive MMO players strive to become respected Viking chiefs on the mysterious and remote island of Thule. The game is free to play on two social networks, Facebook and hi5. Since the game is on a single shard, players can fight, trade and chat seamlessly accross these two social network gaming platforms.

The objective of this fully immersive Facebook MMO is to become one of the 39 chiefs that rule the land and hold a vote on its parliament, the Althingi. To achieve this, players need to outfight and outwit their opponents. You gain riches by trading with other players and managing your growing Viking empire. You gain respect by obtaining special items and by receiving special favours from the Norse gods such as Odin, Thor, Baldur, Heimdallur, Loki and Freyja. Your status is also enhanced by fighting and defeating your opponents in the unique PvP battles (duels).

You’ll have the chance to face your enemies in live, animated battles. Should you become respected enough you will be able to tame Thule’s mythical beasts, the wights, and call upon them in battle where they will come to your aid.

Gameplay

The game will test your management capabilities and your strategic thinking. As you buy land and expand your territory, more and more followers will support your leadership. You will be able to manage your followers and convert them into peasants, huskarls, witches and jarls.

The game introduces a battle system that will test your own avatar’s abilities as well as your own. You can choose to fight using your avatars or Thule´s mythical beasts, the wights.

More than 50 animated moves can be played out in battle and as you become victorious, your avatar and wights will become stronger and more agile. Through wagers (optional bets between you and your foe(s), the winnings of a single battle could be significant. Use your winnings to buy better weapons, more powerful moves, stronger armour, and runes to cast devastating spells in battle.

Vikings of Thule employs a simple micro payment system, which will greatly deepen your game experience. By buying, earning or trading silver coins, you are able to buy valuable in-game limited edition items, weapons, armour and clothing  inspired by Norse mythology, Viking culture and the Icelandic sagas.

  • How do I report a bug or request a new feature? Please send this to us via email.
  • I am having a hard time figuring out what to do.  How do I play the game? First, we would encourage you to read through the in-game tutorial, which you can enter at any time by clicking the glowing orb button in the settings bar.  Sjöfn will guide you through the goals and features of the game.  You will also be rewarded for completing each chapter. If you are still a bit lost after completing this, you should play around with the different windows.  You can also view the Gameplay video in the Gallery section.
  • Why have I stopped receiving freemen? There is a limit on the amount of freemen you receive.  You are allowed 20 freemen for each land unit you claim.  Once you hit your limit, you will no longer receive freemen until you claim more land.  For example, a player who has claimed 10 land units can have up to 200 followers.  Once they are at 200, they will not receive more freemen until they claim their 11th land unit.
  • Why aren’t all of my duel counted on my profile? This is often an area of confusion for new players.  Basically, there was a time when players were unfairly dueling against their other accounts or in-game friends just for the purpose of raising their total quickly to unlock achievement rewards.  We felt this was not in the spirit of the game.  Now, only online duels against unique players are counted on your profile.  You will now have to go out and find new Vikings to challenge if you want to raise your numbers and prove that you really deserve the respect and special items.
  • Why am I having a hard time connecting to the server? While we are always working very hard to keep the game running smoothly, we do occasionally see periods where the servers are overloaded with a high load of players.  This may cause some loading and connection errors.  Though these cases are rare and only temporary, please send us an in-game feedback message to alert us if you encounter a connection error like this.
  • Why can I only see part of the game in the window?Flash player can be very sensitive, and if you do not see the full game in the window, then you are most likely zoomed in.  When in the game, hit the CTRL and 0 (zero) buttons on your keyboard at the same time.  This should set your zoom level back to the default.
  • Can I send you any suggestions on features I’d like to see in the game? Of course!  We highly encourage our players to send their comments and feedback.  Please send these by using the in-game feedback button.

Duel against other Vikings in card-based live battles. Embark upon quests and be rewarded handsomely. Purchase items in the marketplace to customize and increase your Viking’s might. Trade your assets and partake in Thule’s player-driven economy by using the trade market. You can find many ways to gain rank, respect, and wealth to earn your spot on the Althingi, the top 39 players who rule the land.   • How do I gain resources and ore? There are many different ways to earn wealth in the game.  The easiest way is to loot windfalls, which is clicking the icons that appear on your map and the maps of your in-game friends.  These windfalls are automatically added to your own wealth. Be sure to participate in duels.  A win in either an offline or online duel will give high rewards! Complete the quest and you will be rewarded handsomely.  You may repeat the quest at any time to earn more. Manage your land and followers to increase your daily earnings.  Upgrade your house and convert freemen into followers.  If you get a good balance of followers, you will be able to afford their upkeep costs and make a nice profit of ore, resources, runes, and respect each day.The gods may also reward you throughout the game for random achievements. You can interact with players regardless of the social network they play the game on. Vikings of Thule has only one game-world.
