Gameplay

The thrones are empty. Let’s rule!

Set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, Godsrule mixes social gameplay with established RPG elements to create a unique cross-platrorm experience. In Godsrule, players are in charge of leading their army into battle, as well managing and building their empire. To prevail over competitors, players must dominate contested territories, collect scarce resources, manage their buildings, create powerful units and spells, and explore treacherous territories.

After having laid the foundation of their empire, players are faced with the decision of choosing between factions, each battling over a world in ruins - a world at war. Each territory holds valuable bonuses, which benefit factions and their clans. The game offers a unique battle mechanic, where up to 4 players compete by summoning battle-hardened soldiers, casting magnificent spells, and calling on the fiercest mythical creatures.

Godsrule allows players to experience the same persistent world on both Facebook and iPad. This allows them to join their clan mates in battle, train units and manage their empire at any given time or place.

Story

Since the dawn of time, the world tree has been the foundation of a universe controlled by the mightiest of gods. At its base lies a fountain, from which the three witches of destiny water the great tree.

The witches were responsible for welcoming every new human soul to emerge from the tree. Never in disagreement, the witches allotted each soul with an apt body, its future, and its destiny.

At the end of days, during the disarray of the final battle between good and evil, one of the witches was seized and the tree’s fountain went dry. The remaining witches went into hiding, and the steady flow of human birth was disrupted.

The gods fell in the colossal battle, but evil managed to survive. The two witches came out of hiding, only to find the world in ruins and the great tree split in two. Throughout the world, the surviving humans were reduced to starving, dysfunctional tribes, scattered in a world without meaning.

With all of their remaining strength, the witches again began to water the tree. New souls began to emerge, all in desperate need of a destiny. However, without the third witch, they found themselves disagreeing on the fates of these souls. Because of this, the two witches let the tree decide. Thus, souls with special powers were born. Souls with divine abilities and powers now emerged, and from each of the tree’s split sides, two factions were formed.

Within each human tribe, shamans dreamt of leaders, born from the tree of life, who would guide the tribe back to its former glory. From all over, tribes began to flock and settle near sacred trees, waiting for the coming of a leader.

Finally, leaders began to arrive and villages quickly grew, but despite the growth, evil cast the world into an era of war. Each faction, led by their most powerful clans and leaders, were now entangled in an endless battle.

Somewhere, within the darkness of a world at war, evil lurks, seeking to destroy the true leader and claim the empty thrones.
